“My Buddy… Life is a book that we study.”
I could have used Canadian Club whiskey but I was more intrigued by the long vanilla and tangy final flavor of Ballantine’s Barrel Smooth.
Anyway, for the anecdote : Canadian distilling of Hiram Walker Gooderham & Worts acquired Ballantine’s in 1937, and the square shape, characteristic of Ballantine’s bottles, was created during Prohibition so that US vendors could hide a bottle or two of Ballantine’s Finest in their briefcases in the event of police intervention. The disruptive shape of the iconic bottle is still used today, although it is no longer necessary to hide it in a briefcase, nor to know how to play the violin.
